Enviromesh 'the new name in gabions and retaining wall design' already has an order book three months ahead of expectation. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of gabion, mattress and rock netting products in both welded mesh and double-twist woven hexagonal wire mesh. Standard and bespoke welded systems with various mesh configurations are manufactured, all backed by an in-house desktop design advisory service. At the same time, directors Roger Farmer and Neil Holmes are developing new architectural, civil engineering and landscaping applications along with associated products for the industry.

Key to Enviromesh's growing reputation and industry standing is the combined experience that Roger and Neil bring to this new and exciting venture. In Roger's case, this includes 25 years designing and specialising in gabion systems, working in UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. During this time, he instigated and helped develop the first integral gabion faced reinforced soil system in America, now a globally sold system for a multi-national woven mesh gabion manufacturer. Later, he joined Neil, who with over 15 years of commercial and technical experience, had also worked on systems in the UK , Benelux and Eastern Europe and helped launch Galfan, a coated wire for enhancing durability that is now widely accepted as the industry norm.

But perhaps the duos major claim to fame is the Gabion 27 System, a modular 27in. unit that gives a high quality design contrasted by reduced wall section in comparison to conventional systems, better distribution of internal mesh reinforcement within the wall, improved aesthetics due to reduced cell size, and easier installation through the smaller modular size.
